The rate
at which people are getting affected with heart diseases is on an all time
high. The main factors causing heart diseases are high blood pressure and high
cholesterol levels which causes tightening of the arteries. Consumption of
foods containing high levels of saturated and trans fat can contribute towards
increase in cholesterol levels and accumulation of bad cholesterol in the
arteries. There are various types of heart diseases such as coronary artery
disease, peripheral artery disease, congenital heart disease and cardiac
arrest. Out of all these cardiac arrest is the most life-threatening one which
has been claiming a lot of lives lately. Not even children or infants are
spared from it. It strikes someone all of a sudden without any prior intimation.
It can get very difficult for the person who is struck with a cardiac arrest to
survive unless proper and timely treatment has been administered to the victim.
Apart from the life-saving Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation procedures there are
no other proper treatments which can revive the life of a cardiac arrest
victim. The procedures were first designed by the American Heart Association
which comprises of chest compressions and rescue breathings. Accurate
application of the procedures can save the life of a cardiac arrest victim. If
you are a resident of Tampa you can go for a CPR training program at the AHA
accredited CPR Tampa. At the end of a program expect to receive an AHA CPR
provider card which will be having a validity for 2 years which means you would
require to go for renewal courses.
CPR Renewal Courses- Like we have mentioned earlier that the CPR provider card
one will receive after the completion of a program at CPR Tampa will be having
a validity for two years which means an individual would have to go for proper
renewal classes in order to renew their cards. Three re-certification programs
are conducted at CPR Tampa: BLS Renewal course, ACLS Renewal course and the
PALS renewal course. The renewal courses would not only enable someone to retain
the validity of the card but also an individual would be able to brush up on
his or her already acquired skills which can prove to be highly useful for the
said person.
Like we
were discussing earlier that there are various types of cardiovascular diseases,
cardiac arrest being one of them, certain heart diseases which mainly affects
the heart muscles are:
Myocarditis- Myocarditis involves swelling of the heart muscles with some
of the symptoms being chest pain, fever, palpitation, etc.
Cardiomyopathy- Certain factors behind cardiomyopathy are high blood
pressure, congenital heart defect, artery diseases, etc. Cardiomyopathy causes
the heart muscles to become enlarged, thick thus weakening the heart and its
ability to pump blood throughout the body.
