The most
life-threatening of all the pediatric emergencies is occurrence of a sudden
cardiac arrest in children and infants. In order to face such situations
successfully, one requires to go for a PALSclass Tampa which is an advanced CPR program designed for advanced
healthcare professionals. PALS is the acronym for Pediatric Advanced Life
Support in which the CPR techniques (a combination of chest compressions and
rescue breaths) are taught to healthcare providers. It is a wrong notion that
people have that children or infants are not prone to a cardiac arrest, they
are as much prone as are adults but cardiac arrests and heart attacks mostly
strike adults. Regardless of your professional background, you should learn the
child CPR techniques especially if your job involves staying around children
such as teachers, parents, babysitters, etc. For learning the techniques choose
an accredited training center such as the AHA accredited CPR Tampa in Florida
which consists of some of the most experienced CPR instructors. There are
courses for both healthcare as well as non-healthcare providers, one should go
through the course curriculum in order to choose the most appropriate program.
PALS Training Classes- PALS is the acronym for pediatric
advanced life support and this program has been designed for healthcare
providers. PALS is a course that is required for most healthcare providers that
work with the pediatric population. Most licensed PALS providers work in:
· Operating rooms
· Pediatric Intensive Care Units
· Emergency Departments
· Specialized Pediatric Departments
· Pediatric Facilities that Provide Outpatient Surgery
· Long Term Skilled Nursing Services
· Sedation for Dental Procedures, and
· Pediatric Transport
Some of the
healthcare providers that take PALS classes are pediatricians, pediatric
dentists, paramedics, CRNA’S, anesthesiologists, emergency department nurses
and physicians, PICU RNs, Operating Room RNs, Children’s Hospital faculty, physician
assistants, medical residents, and many more. Students will work as a team
while being presented with several different pediatric cases that require
treatment. Students having a solid understanding of pharmacology, ECG rhythm
interpretation and pediatric vital signs will feel more comfortable during the
class. Students enrolling for a PALS program would be given an ECG/Pharmacology
manual and PALS manual and it is important for students to go through the
materials before attending the classes. At the end of the classes, a student
would be eligible for a certification after successfully passing a skills test
and a written exam. The program fee is 297$.
